Wooser’s Hand-to-Mouth Life is a series of anime shorts that contain dark humor, parody and other forms of comedy. It is about a bunnylike creature named Wooser who is interested in money, women, and meat. There are also two girls named Rin and Ren that he always hanging out with and their friends.
One of the best parts of the show are the parodies of other kinds of shows. They parody mecha, magical girls, sentai, and other shows. For instance during the magical girl segment they only show the transformation of the main character and the secondary girl talks about how hers got cut. This has actually happened in magical girl shows when there is a lot going on.
Most of the animals are based on real animal except this melon beast.
One of the only problems I think the show had was that the only character that had much personality was Wooser. The two girls were just innocent and jaded with no other personality traits. The girl’s friends were just generic background characters. Also the other animals were just like cute pals and did not get to say anything. There is more that could have been done if the other characters had more personality especially the animals.
The cute artstyle really adds to the show. The cuteness gives a great contrast to Wooser’s cynical outlook. Also in the cute scenes that happen it makes it even cuter. I do not think the show would have the same impact if the art had been less cute. They do change the art at certain times though to give an appropriate look like for the fanservice.
Overall for an anime short series Wooser’s Hand-to-Mouth Life really has it going on. There is a little bit of everything comedy, fanservice, and more.
Score: 4/5
Merry Christmas have some Ren fanservice.
Also some of Rin in case you like them slender like Wooser.
