Wayward Terran Frontier Kickstarter Spotlight

Wayward Terran Frontier is a new game coming in the style of Star Control 2 and to some extent, Space Pirates and Zombies. The main feature that drew our interest is that multiplayer is going to be a big part of it. This is something that has been missing in the genre for some time.

The Wayward Terran Frontier Gameplay

From your ships to space stations you customize everything about your area. After that you simply explore the galaxy and invite friends over to help you. All of this will happen in a persistent world system with procedurally generated planets. A “Universe Sandbox” so to speak, to borrow the name of another game. We think this could be truly amazing.

The game will also have end game content with harder bosses and special unlocks for those who want to gather their friends and fight through everything. We are glad that they have kept that in mind because it really extends the gameplay for people. Has anyone noticed indie games are getting longer and AAA games seem to be getting shorter?

Wayward Terran Frontier and Customization

Another point they are trying to stress is how customizable the ships are. While we understand why they are pushing it this is something gamers have come to expect with the large amount of customization in 4X games. This is not one, but it is a space opera and gamers have a set bar for those. Even with that being said they have quite a lot of options from massive fleet ships to tiny fighters.

Early betas, copies of the games, side stories and NPCs are all available. So far they have gotten some decent funding but have not succeeded quite yet. We hope that the project goes through so take a look at the Kickstarter. You can also test this first to see if you like it right here.
