Somewhere between an FPS level creator and Gmod lies Uemeu. You design levels in a flexible editor starting at a simple wire frame. Then you enjoy your levels with a variety of activities. We love games like this that let you build them as you play so we’re going to look at this one.
The Animated World of Uemeu
So what sets this apart from dozens of other sandbox building games? Animation and depth are the big key differences. You can create you own mini-games within the game from shooters to soccer games. Even platformers are possible. That being said it’s a bit more complicated than say, Minecraft. This system allows you to animate every part of an area. Theoretically you could create a “living” level.
They will also have character creation options and flowing liquids. Pretty much everything you would need to make your own world. We would love to see what happens when this gets on Steam Workshop. The possibilities are mind boggling. In early development the graphics look nice but we expect them to be much better later.
The Story of Uemu
Right now we aren’t sure how they will handle story. We hope there will be a way to add text/etc in some areas later on. It really added something to many creation games like this. It would also be a way to separate themselves from the many other games of this type. Custom avatars are a good first step but it needs to go way beyond Second Life and games like that.
