Taking a Look at Project Phoenix

Sometimes we go over Kickstarters while they are still up. Sometimes they catch our attention later on. Project Phoenix caught our attention later on both for the huge funding they got and how they went about getting it. If you are planning your own Kickstarter it is worth looking at and they are still taking donations for the game.

The First Japan-based Kickstarter?

We are a little confused about how they define that but that was the tagline they gave for the Project Phoenix. They got in just a bit before quite a few others that would have taken it. It worked for them in a huge way.

The Project Phoenix World Map

Project Phoenix Itself

The game will be a squad-based RPG game along the same lines as Valkyria Chronicles. The game will have a fully explorable overworld with tons of characters to get. From the music to the gameplay everything is done by professionals such as music by Final Fantasy’s Nobuo Uematsu.

What Makes the Project Phoenix Kickstarter Stand Out

One they managed to get massive hype from the development team. This is because they worked on previous titles and shows such as:

  • Valkyria Chronicles
  • L.A. Noire
  • Several FF Games
  • Halo 4? (apparently)
  • Skyrim

Having a lot of big names on your project does not insure success, but it really does not hurt at all. With that momentum built up and a highly successful Kickstarter they are taking even more donations on their full site.

Project Phoenix, And?

So all of this seems basic right? What stands out is many marketing teams and development teams get people so excited that they will not only give a ton of money but donate further beyond that. This is something that you want to have in your own projects if you decide to do one. Funding is flowing like water if you can have a successful Kickstarter.
