So why are we doing something on Strider? Because we at Nerd Age love that game and are excited that it is getting an update.
The New, Old? Strider Gameplay
As with many games in this genre from what we have seen so far it is going to have 2D gameplay with 3D elements. It looks like it has a ton of elements from Megaman X. There are worse things to steal from, in this case it’s Capcom stealing from Capcom.
After the mess that Megaman X eventually became it might be nice to have a successor. This might be it.
The Strider Style Change
The style of course has certainly changed as well. The environments are more sleek than the old game, although Hiryu himself looks much like he did in the fighting games. That is not really surprising as they are likely going to play on his popularity there as well.
The gameplay is also going to give stronger powers and more maneuverability to strider himself. Wall jumping will of course be a part of it, we are sure.
The Strider Story
As you might expect strider is fighting against an empire led by “Grand Master Meio”. which is pretty similar to the previous storyline. Really it wouldn’t fit to have anything else happen. We are sure there will be some changes to the characters and some new ones. Hopefully it’ll be a bit more serious than some of the games Capcom has been putting out. It would just fit the series better.
A Strider Rebirth?
In uncertain times Capcom needs another breakout title to really bolster their bottom line. We hope that this will be it. The game is scheduled for release on February 18th and 19th on on consoles and computer. It’s going to have an E10+ rating.
