Zombies vs Robots vs Dinosaurs sounds a bit cheesy at first. It worked for Smash Up though, so Spark Rising is going to try it. In this game you build an army using Minecraft style bricks. Then you animate your army along with your defenses and fight alongside it. We think this particular combination might be a winner.
Spark Rising Tower Defense
At the core of the game it’s a tower defense. You have to defend your area from attackers trying to get to resources. You use your various creations to do this and fight the enemies yourself as well. This formula has worked well for a variety of other games such as Dungeon Defenders.
Conquer a New Map
The reason we’re most interested in it are the campaign and conquest modes. These promise to have similar elements to other classic campaign games. This of course includes capturing and holding territory over a variety of maps. If the core gameplay is good this would be all it needs to make it great. They say it’s based on the Star Wars Battlefront 2 campaign. That game had its flaws but the campaign mechanic was decently done in it.
Minecraft Integration
That’s right, this game lets you import things you have created in Minecraft. This is a pretty cool thing to consider with the game. You can also bring them in from Qubicle as well. We hope this feature works well.
The Spark Rising Kickstarter
As you might expect it has copies of the game and in-game items. It does stand out for one thing though, if you donate the highest amount you become the main villain. While the largest donation is quite pricey at 5,000 it is a very cool option. Also all $10 plus backers get access to the alpha. Overall it seems like a very well-planned Kickstarter. We will definitely be covering this game further.
