In this Sofuteni Review we will be going over the show’s basic premise. Sofuteni is a comedy show about a tennis club. The show goes through their club trying to get better so they can compete in a tournament. They go to lots of places and have many antics along the way.
Fanservice is a good substitute for story, right?
Sofuteni Review:
There isn’t really much to the story of Sofuteni. This show is more about the antics of the girls than the story. It is basically about them just playing Tennis which a lot of comedy and inappropriate situations thrown in. It isn’t really a sports Anime so much as an excuse to get the girls doing bouncy things. So to get to what is really happening in this show we should just go ahead and talk about the girls.
Asuna
Asuna is one of the two main characters. On the outside she looks so innocent, but on the inside she has an incredibly dirty mind. There is nothing Asuna will not have a fantasy about. She is known for having lots of nose bleeds and zoning out while having a fantasy. It is unknown whether she is bisexual or just a lesbian.
Kotone
Kotone is the other main character. Kotone is super serious about tennis and also athletic and spirited. She is known for getting mad and taking people down since she is good at Karate. Her drive to win doesn’t stop her from mooning over the coach Mishi.
Chitose
Chitose is the captain of the soft tennis club and the worst player. She is very touchy about her bad playing and will try anything to seem better. She is known for leaving the group to go berserk in the woods while nude with a Japanese Salamander.
Kurusu
Kurusu is the best player of the group. She is often seen the background cosplaying. She gets along well with Elizabeth Warren.
Elizabeth Warren
She came all the way from England to be with the coach Mishi. She was a national winner at hard tennis, but switched to soft tennis for Mishi. She is known for saying random things in English and going all lovey dovey over Mishi.
Each episode has one or more of the characteristics of each the characters come up while they practice tennis. Some of it is amusing and some misses the mark. For example, Asuna’s fantasies just get predictable.
The team dressed up this girl when they were supposed to be having a competition.
The art for the show is average. In a time where lots of shows have beautiful artwork that is a bit disappointing, but at least it isn’t so bad that it distracts from the show. The opening and ending music and appearance is ok. Overall the theme with this review is that the show is average.
Hmmm this looks familiar. Like I saw this same thing in another comedy.
Overall this show comes off pretty average. Since it is a comedy, the story isn’t the most important especially since it is an Ecchi comedy. The characters are likable and some are different than the usual character types so that is nice. The art isn’t great.

I give this show a 3/5. If you want to know more about the show you can read about it on the Wiki here. It’s your pretty standard Ecchi show. It also has a manga which I haven’t gone over yet, I am not sure if it is significantly different from the show.
