Saikin, Imouto no Yousu ga Chotto Okashiinda ga is about a girl that has just had her mom marry someone new. Mitsuki also has a new older stepbrother. She does not seem too happy with the situation and it only gets worse when she becomes possessed by a ghost that wants to use her body to hit on her new brother. If Mitsuki does not help Hiyori hit on her brother then she would be in big trouble. So Mitsuki has to wear a chastity belt that measures the level of success she is having. This leads to lots of fanservice and shenanigans.
The story for Saikin, Imouto no Yousu ga Chotto Okashiinda ga was pretty much a lost cause from the start. The writer did not even try. Hiyori was a ghost that for some reason was obsessed with Yuuya, but that is not explored very much. Even flashbacks to her life before she died to show what she was like before death would have been nice. Instead she has no memories and does not even know her own name. All she knows is that she loves Yuuya. That seems like a poor excuse to not flesh out a main character in the show. While Hiyori is all about Yuuya he does not even recognize her when he starts seeing her. That is pretty confusing.
The characters are all pretty shallow with very little growth by the end of the series. Mitsuki throughout the whole series is pretty cold to her new brother and is very serious. The only growth from her is that she calls him onii-chan of her own free will at the end. The rest of the characters are stuck with the same personality and one dominant trait the whole time. Unfortunately Yuuya’s is that he is a nice guy and whipping boy. He mostly finds ways to excuse and blame himself for getting hit by Mitsuki over everything.
Fanservice in this series is a common occurrence. The amount that is shown varies throughout the series with some segments getting all the way to Mitsuki orgasming while others do not show what goes on. Also by the end of the series just about anything will make Mitsuki feel good like fish eating dead skin off her feet or the Heimlich maneuver. Does not seem realistic even in a crazy world like in Saikin, Imouto no Yousu ga Chotto Okashiinda ga.
Overall Saikin, Imouto no Yousu ga Chotto Okashiinda ga does not stick with the heavy fanservice from the beginning which sadly is probably the thing most likely to get views. The story is bad and does not even capitalize on the most interesting aspect of the show. The ending was disappointing as well since nothing was over at all and the two have to work on the whole thing over again. Considering the last door just lead to more stairs this could go on forever.
Score: 1/5 Even with a premise like this there is more that could have been done with this show.
