An HD remake of Resident Evil 1 was released Tuesday. For those unfamiliar with this version it’s an updated version of the Gamecube re-imagining.
Updated Graphics for Resident Evil 1 HD Remaster
For those who played the original the gameplay is pretty much untouched. You have more control options such as classic and alternative analog. The big changes come in the form of greatly updated graphics. Resolution and display options have been improved to full HD.
3D models have also been greatly improved over the Gamecube original. Overall everything just looks better than the excellent Gamecube version.
No More Terrible Controls
Control was the biggest problem that many people had with this series. Now there is a simple analog setup which makes the game more accessible than ever before.
Improved Sound
High-definition audio is part of the new setting as well. Each part of the soundtrack has been remade for high fidelity on any system.
Multiplatform Releases for Resident Evil 1 HD Remaster
Playstation 3, 4, Xbox One and 360 all have an edition of this. We will be playing it on Steam ourselves. Right now you can get it for $19.99 over digital delivery on multiple platforms.
Those who pre-ordered this get a special soundtrack and also an art book for the setting as well.
Additional Content
For those who only played the Playstation original the game has additional zombie types and a new boss. There is an entirely new storyline based around an inhabitant of the house who was there since before the incident started.
Basically it’s the game Capcom wanted to make originally but did not have time to do with the first game.
