Red Goddess is the latest entry in the very popular world of Kickstarter platformers. We are always looking for a platformer that stands out in a sea of mediocre other ones so let us take a look at it today.
The World of Red Goddess
The world itself mixes 3D with 2D elements that many games have used to great effect. The art seems nice so far although we’re sure it’ll be a little more polished later. The particle effects and lighting look quite excellent though.
As with many games like this you explore a vast world and unlock new powers as you go along.
The Red Goddess Story
The main character is a goddess named Divine…. yeah we’ll let you think about that one. She apparently has had a very tragic and tumultuous past that her subconscious is tormenting her with. The objective of the game is to find out who you really are and what actually happened to fill you with so many demons.
What Sets Red Goddess Apart
Possession of enemies is the main draw of the game. Many areas will require you to take over their bodies and use their unique powers to advance. They’ll also be incorporating what they call “character ball” gameplay that lets you switch between a variety of abilities. This worked for the lost vikings but we’re hoping they’ll advance it even beyond that.
Supporting Red Goddess
The smaller rewards feature skins, music and of course copies of the game. The higher levels are a bit different because one of them is an emblazoned plaque which is, neat, we suppose but not normal. And of course for the big spender they want to meet you in person with a trip. If any of these work for you take a look at their Kickstarter here.
