Ravaged Review

Ravaged is a highly polished and very interesting contender in the now-crowded FPS market. We’re going to give you the whole truth and nothing but the truth on it today.

Ravaged an odd sight

The costumes for the scavengers make for some odd sights in this game.

The story of Ravaged

Ravaged takes place in a post apocalyptic world. You play as the scavengers who are basically the guys from Mad Max or the Resistance who are normal people. You have to kill opponents and capture territory in the blasted landscape.

Ravaged Ambient Lighting

The graphics and lighting are quite excellent in Ravaged.

Vehicles that move

The vehicles all control excellently in Ravaged. The driving and shooting are all very fluid. Choppers and tanks also control very well. This is some of the best executed vehicular combat seen in an FPS.

Ravaged interface

Ravaged has a sleek interface

From spawning to picking squads everything works on a Battlefield 2 style map. All of the user interfaces are sleek and easy to use. They all let you get into ravaged very quickly.

Ravaged Classes

Combat on the ground

There is also a class system that works very well. You have your normal classes, anti-tank, assault and sniper. You can run in the middle just as well as sniping from a hillside. Overall the human to human combat is very good.

Ravaged Gas Station Details

The little details make this game really beautiful.

Ravaged and infancy problems

Most of the problems the game has lie in its infancy. It does not have a huge play base nor loads of upgrades for each class. At the same time there is not much in the area of innovation. The concepts are all great and executed well but we have seen them before.

Ravaged Winter Map

The maps are truly spectacular and excellent to play on.

Ravaged is an amazing value

I’ve never seen a $10 title have so much polish. The developers also seem to care greatly about the game. They were in the game and I played with them briefly. Overall it seems like this game is really going places. It would be a good idea to get Ravaged early on.

The Final Verdict: 3.5 out of 5 – An excellently streamlined package with great gameplay. However Ravaged is hurt by a lack of players and innovation. We believe this game is bound for excellence later on once they release a few more free DLC packages. It could easily rival Killing Floor in quality when that happens. That being said, this game is a great value at $10 USD, much less the $5 it is on sale on Steam at the time of this writing.
