Nyanpire Review- As Good as a vampire cat anime gets- Nerd Age

Nyanpire is an anime about a cute vampire cat and all the various things he gets into. The show is very short with only a few minutes per episode, but it has a pretty long ending.

There is not much of a story with Nyanpire, as you might expect from a show as short of this one. It follows Nyanpire as he makes many friends after he becomes a vampire.  Together, with them, he learns about different things like Halloween.

There are various other characters in Nyanpire;  like a love interest who is another male, a fallen angel, a cute brother, and a couple of bats. The story mostly seems to revolve around what the other characters are doing. They are a lot more interesting than the main character generally.

The main character just overreacts to what they are doing, acts oblivious, or is like a spoiled child. The other characters make up for the deficiencies of the main character. I love seeing  Masamunya fantasizing about Nyanpire or Nyatenshi getting something from the scaredy cat.

The jokes in this show were pretty amusing. They did quite a bit with visual gags and great work with facial expressions.  Despite this looking like a kids’ show I don’t know how kids would understand some of the jokes.  I guess that is the case with a lot of shows for children though.

The facial expression on Meowcifer here is so good.

One thing that disappointed me about this show was that the vampire did not show up again even though they mentioned him being around several times. I wanted to get to know him better. What vampire would be willing to change a cat into a vampire? The thing that disappointed me most about this show was that I wanted more. This show turned out better than I thought it would be at the beginning of the season. I mostly kept watching to see the cats, but it turned out really good.
