Nerd News Bites 5: Minecraft and Capcom
Some very big nerd news for Minecraft in this edition, and some smaller news bites here and there.
- Big news that has been out for a while: A code freeze is coming up soon for Minecraft. That’s right, soon there will be no changes to the code until Minecon.
- A new mode has been announced for Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Their new mode, “Heroes and Heralds” mode is FREE DLC with team based gameplay. You collect cards that give you new abilities or stats and you play as a defender of Earth or Herald of Galactus. But hey, the best part is that this is free.
- Tropico 4 is now available for gamers on Xbox.
- Kalypso released Airline Tycoon 2, a continuation of the Tycoon genre.
- Dead Rising now has a mobile addition for smaller devices. One of many games to take this path.
- Mojang won a temporary injunction on the lawsuit. While it isn’t over yet, this is a big moment for them. Notch is happy that they won, but we can only assume that he is still sad that they don’t get to play Quake.
- The Devil May Cry remastered HD collection has been announced for 2012. Many games are getting this treatment at an affordable price.
- Skarner is getting a buff. Let us know in comments if you would like a guide for him.
- An indie successor to Xcom has been around for quite some time. If you love this old game, be sure to check out Xenonauts. Classic gameplay in an updated package.
- RAGE has received enough work on it to be playable on PC without constant crashes. That said, we are thoroughly enjoying it.
- Fans are loving Dead Rising 2 Off the Record. Those who really love it might be interested that there is DLC which turns Frank west into a cyborg, dealing electricity damage and having huge increased damage.
- A rumor, yes this is just a rumor, states that the full roster of Street Fighter X Tekken has been leaked.
