Mojang crew helps out blogger

Jeb of Mojang announced on his twitter account that they would be helping out an influential blogger who was getting evicted.

Mojang is doing something very special for Mark Cooper, also known as “Astragali: The Minecraft Scribe”. Mark been a long time writer in the Minecraft community. He has also contributed to a significant number of other Minecraft content producers including “The Shaft Podcast”.

He was also heavily involved in Wondercraft. He had a large hand in translating the project. Be sure to check out their own coverage here. Also be sure to check out Wondercraft itself if you are a fan of Minecraft. It’s quite interesting.

Mark has unfortunately had some trouble paying his rent due to losing a job and having a job search. He is now quite a bit behind on his rent and is looking for some help. But his story has already had a happy ending. It hasn’t been said if a past due rent notice has/had been sent to him, this would typically (depending on the state) be the next step for renters to receive. Tenants can look at this to see what one looks like just in case they are sent one by their landlord.

Mojang achieves charity

To help him they are auctioning off two portraits. One of Jeb and one of Notch. They have reached their goal and are exceeding it currently. They’ve already auctioned off other prints as well. We’re unsure as to whether there will be any more donators of physical goods.

They will be keeping up the donation button in order to help keep him financially stable. You can go and donate here: Crow blog. If you really enjoy his work feel free to donate. With this he’ll probably able to join the ranks of people making their living off of writing a bit about Minecraft.

For those wanting to join the ranks of the Minecraft community, Mark’s story teaches an important lesson. Make connections, offer help to other people and they’ll do the same for you. He now has quite a bit of good will and also quite a bit of money to show for his work at making connections.
