League of legends has announced a new capture point style Dominion mode. It will see a new gameplay mode where you hold points on an entirely new map called “Crystal Scar”.
Dominion mode rumors state that it will be an entirely new way to play, and champions with excellent area control will rule the day. It’s sure to change the meta entirely, at least for this map. There are rumors that AD characters rule the day, however we are unsure whether those rumors are true.
Logically, the champions who would dominate this map are ones who have excellent area control. Champions like Malzahar or Heimerdinger. However rumors persist that this is not the case. We will have to see when the game mode is fully released.
Developers promise that Dominion mode will be very fast paced. It’s going to be a very different map than the others, and should allow you to finish games quickly. This will be a nice change of pace for your average 10 year old whose mom calls him to dinner after he has played 15 minutes. Maybe it’ll help keep Timmy or Jack from ruining your game. Maybe not.
We have to stop for a second and ask, what the heck happened to Magma Chamber? That map has been in development for months and months. We had a preview of it ages ago, but we haven’t heard anything about it other than it is in development.
However it is interesting that Dominion mode is coming out with its own map. This leads to a bit of speculation on whether we might see a new game mode with Magma Chamber. While nothing has been hinted about this, it would be nice for Riot to give us a bonus after waiting so long. But that might just be wishful thinking.
