A lot has been going on in League of Legends, mostly surrounding Gamescom and Dominion mode.
As their site mentions, Riot will be streaming Dominion Mode from Friday, August 19th to Sunday, August 21st. They will be streaming League of Legends from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. every day. You can catch Dominion mode and much more at their new Gamescom site.
Season 2 will be coming out this fall and will be featured on weekly Livestreams. The prize will be a whopping $5 million in cash. It appears that the competitive scene is going to get much larger and more impressive as we go along. It’s definitely something that they need while gearing up to fight DOTA 2.
Talon has also been revealed in-depth in his art spotlight and Talon mechanics preview. He appears to be yet another AD assassin character. As a stealth character, he will likely have low health, so we can see whether this will work out.
This is your last chance to get the exclusive Riot Singed. He will be vanishing soon and PAX will be your final chance. He will be replaced by Riot K-9 Nasus.
Much to everyone’s chagrin, there will be a new fall back ping button which has shown up in Dominion screen shots. We want to take this chance to beg Riot to take this out before the full release. Anyone who has played League of Legends knows they will run into at least one person who will spam this button nonstop.
To wrap up they are adding something called “Kill Callouts” which is supposed to improve how the announcer gets info to you. Riot has explained it as a system where you will get a lot of information “Through a feed on the right hand side of the screen you’ll now receive instant, detailed notifications on combat events.” Whether this will be helpful or annoying remains to be seen.
