Since the first game was one of our favorites of all time it would be a shame not to look at La-Mulana 2. We want to explore what is being added and discuss the fact that this why Kickstarter is an interesting choice.
The La-Mulana 2 Story
It has been some time since the original protagonist defeated the original Mother. Now new monsters and ruins have formed in the previous location. It seems that some fragment of the power has survived. Lumisa Kosugi is the newest protagonist who is, in some way or another, the daughter of the main character.
He apparently had her at 15 since the KS says he is 36 and she is 21. The character will travel through mythological lands such as Midgard to find the remaining power.
La-Mulana 2 and Gameplay
From what we have seen so far it looks like it will be mostly the same game. Just with new areas, enemies and items. Some of the old characters will come back as well. There will be a costume system and additional skeleton keys are rewards for those who back on Kickstarter. It seems unlikely the costumes will change the game much.
All Signs Point to La-Mulana 2 Not Needing a Kickstarter
With an international following and small groups of people absolutely devoted to it they may not even need this. So what is it for? Additional content. We are seeing this more and more in the industry.
The La-Mulana 2 Kickstarter Itself
Copies of the game, bodies in the dungeons are all things you can get with these. You can even get invited to the release party if you somehow have 10K sitting around. At any rate most of us will just be getting a copy of the game but that works for us. You can of course get your own copy as well by donating to it here.
