K episode 3 – Just Kiss Already

In K episode 3 we finally get some insight into what is going on with the kings. It is hard to believe it takes three episodes to reveal something that turns out to not be all that impressive. The kings are in charge of the government, business and just about anything of importance. People with supernatural powers having power over the government and business is not unusual. Would have been nice to have something new going on. I am interested in seeing what some of the other kings are in charge of though. I would guess that red is in charge of the criminal element from how they have been operating so far.

K Robot Move Out of the Way

Excuse me. Best part of the show coming through.

Something that is starting to annoy me is that the only person who gets to have an actual fight is Yata. There have been so many build ups that should have lead to fights, but then someone gets tricked, surrenders or the camera cuts away from the action. Just in this episode there are two examples of this. First they showed the flashback to the red and blue confrontation where the leader Suoh just gives up without a fight. Then they have Fushimi going to find the gun dealer’s location and takes out all the guys at the location, but the camera cuts away and only shows the aftermath. I would like to see more of how the powers work, but this anime is holding out on me.

K Munakata Will Have To Kill You

I am afraid I am going to have to hurt you…

K Suoh and Munakata

*Sexual Tension* … or I could just lock you up forever.

K Locked Up Forever

I would let you keep me locked up forever, if you would always be with me. You could even restrain me if I am naughty.

K Munakata and Suoh Discussion

I am much too busy to spend all my time with you.

K Munakata wistful

I wish I could though.

The confrontation between Munakata and Suoh did not go exactly like that, but there was a lot of stuff that could be seen that way.  Most likely this whole conversation was supposed to be the Blue King having an intervention with the Red King. The end where Munakata seems all wistful is him wishing things had gone differently since he respects the Red King. It comes off tsundere though. Time will tell if they are actually interested in each other or not. This scene did bring up that misusing the power can have horrible consequences, so I wonder if Munakata just took it upon himself to deal with this or if there is a policy for the kings to handle things before it leads to another incident.
