The Big Finale
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure episode 8 was the big finale of the first series. The final battle played out spectacularly as usual. However I want to talk about Phantom Blood as a whole this time.

You would think Dio was not popular with women if you watched this series. We find out otherwise in later shows.
The Rundown of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 8
At the onset the group finds out that Dio has grabbed Poco’s sister. The group gets there just in time to fight Doobie, the main lackey of Dio this time around. Unfortunately for Doobie, he gets crushed by Jonathan in record time. Do not worry Doobie, Vanilla Ice will do better. At least you had cool snakes in your head.
Blood control is also a major part of this. Much of the episode is showing how awesome Jonathan is. It is kind of a shame it ends so shortly after this.
The group then goes to fight the final battle. Well, final for a few people at least. Dire tries to take on Dio but is crushed quickly. He manages to imbue some roses with Hamon and injure Dio. Jonathan uses those roses later to distract Dio.
Such a soft vessel for blood.
Jonathan then fights him to the death. He tries cutting Dio in half, but Dio keeps fighting. He cuts Dio’s arm off, Dio keeps fighting. This all plays out a bit differently than the manga, but not so much it is a problem. After a brutal fight where he almost has Dio turn him into a vampire through his Carotid, Jonathan finally uses fire.
This predates Street Fighter, and is one of the inspirations for it.
Dio is overwhelmed by the combination of fire and Hamon, and begins falling to pieces. The group of course, celebrates. Everyone thinks it is over, but we have one more episode.
The flaw of the original Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Phantom Blood
Some of you are probably saying “man, series 1 is short.” Indeed it was. Araki, the author, had not gained the fame he needed yet. Therefore his first book was relatively short. The anime has the same problem here. Everyone wanted more, and fortunately we got it. Series two should be as excellent in the anime as it was in the manga. On the other hand, Steel Ball Run would have been better served being shorter like this.
Changes and censoring of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 8
In no episode was the changing and censoring more prevalent. It happened quite a bit here. However I believe it was still within acceptable limits. Dio clearly had been cut nearly in half. The events also played out faster than in the manga, which is also bothersome but acceptable. I think overall they did not hurt the overall event.
One more episode of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
Then we are on to the next series. We are all fairly excited here for that. We hope they can keep up their high quality with this TV series.
