Episode 19 is rather uneventful in the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Battle Tendency arc. It shows off Stroheim and sets the stage for Cars to fight Jojo for real later. However this episode stands out for some excellent art direction.
The Rundown of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 19
Stroheim and Cars face off over the Super Red Stone. Stroheim is of course no match for Cars and gets lacerated. Stroheim does however have a rocking awesome machine gun in his chest. Unfortunately the stone begins sliding towards a ravine. Cars and Joseph chase it down and face off.
After plummeting down the slope Joseph grabs the stone. Cars nearly cuts him in half but is unwilling to damage the stone to do so. Joseph uses a rope made of Hamon icicles to save himself. Caesar helps him with this.
Meanwhile at the bottom of the slope Cars is laughing hysterically. He finally realizes Joseph is a worthy foe. Cars leaves and waits for the heroes to attack. The next day Caesar and Joseph fight on whether they should confront Cars. Joseph knows it is a trap and Cars wants them to attack. Caesar, stricken with grief over his family and a thirst for vengeance, forsakes the group and goes off on his own.
The Cars vs Joseph Fight
The fight in this episode really stands out. It consists of a few attacks, but it very well drawn and animated. The flashing blades and intense expressions made it come alive. Honestly this was even better done for me than the original manga.
The Battle Tendency Wrap Up
We are coming to the end of the arc. Some impressive and climactic fights are happening soon. We hope that they will be able to keep the quality up here yet again. Stay with us for the final episodes of the arc.
