We continue into the meat of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure in the Battle Tendency arc.
The Rundown of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 12
Joseph has an easy fight with a knife-wielding member of the Nazi regime. Most of the episode focuses on how awesome the man in the pillar is. He is dubbed Santana by Stroheim. The man in the pillar escapes an escape-proof room.
The episode also features a very amusing but terrible disguise by Joseph. Everyone knows that all the best things in history have drag queens somewhere in them.
In a horrifying scene we learn that he can control his entire body right down to crushing and changing his bone structure. He can even go inside of and control people.
Stroheim is on his last legs when Joseph comes to save the day. He rips out some of Stroheim’s hair and uses it as a Hamon defense. The episode ends on Joseph and Santana facing off.
Some much welcome horror
Araki also wrote horror manga. He wanted to bring this same spirit to Jojo’s at times. In this episode we see some truly disturbing sights. However we would lose something if we did not have them. The animators do place strange shadows to cover things though. This does not cause it to lose impact for me although I could see some people being upset.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure vs Censors
The fact that they have to keep it kid friendly raises some questions. There are some very creepy parts during series four. There is also a very taboo scene in the Steel Ball Run arc. Will they be able to get these past the censors?
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 12 keeps up the quality
So far we continue to see a good level of quality. Only rarely do the animators take it to a lower standard. We hope that this continues as usual.
