The Humble Bundle managers have decided they want to target a new demographic. While I was going to go on a blistering tirade about this change I realized that just telling you what they are doing will suffice. The current bundles speak for themselves more clearly and loudly than anything we could say.
The Humble Origin Bundle
Right now you can get several Origin games on the Humble Bundle for less than their normal price. These include Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3 with some minor content. This is the first strictly Origin bundle that we have seen from, well, anyone.
The PewDiePie Sale
Known best for his various jokes about rape and for screaming incoherently with a face cam, PewDiePie now has his own Humble Weekly Sale. You can get Amnesia, McPixel and several other games that he picked. That being said most of the games in this one aren’t bad. While YouTube celebrities aren’t unheard of for endorsing gaming products, this is the first time we’ve seen one of this stripe with the Humble Bundle. If it is successful we will probably see more like this.
Where the Humble Bundle is Going
We are very curious to see if this week is indicative of how they are going to handle their site from now on. We certainly have our own opinions on this but we’re going to reserve them for private conversations.
