Fists of Resistance - the Oxeye Mojam game - Nerd Age

Fists of Resistance might as well be called Nazipuncher. Because you punch and kick Nazis into oblivion. We’re going to give you some basic advice and lay out the controls for you.

Controls:

• Use the arrowkeys to move.
• Shift allows you to run.
• Use X to punch, Z to kick.
• Pressing X and Z together does a jump. You can do a flying kick and punch respectively while in the air.
• X picks up keys, chests, etc.
• Ctrl+R restarts the game. It is prone to crashes on some setups, and we even had it freeze on the game over screen. Very useful.

Fists of Resistance Tactics

The basic game consists of running through areas with shift or using jump kicks. Jump kicks/punches are very useful because they allow you to instantly knock down and opponent. This allows you to run or finish them while they are down.

Green crates contain bombs. These destroy huge groups of enemies, but can also hurt you.

Your goal is to get to the next level by reaching some stairs. Although you start only facing basic enemies who run at you, you will face dashing enemies and other attack forms later.

Hallways can shelter you from huge hordes. You can then grab a chest or bomb and throw it at them.

Here you can see a key and locked door. Simply pick it up with X and carry it to the door.

This is the exit you are looking for. Unfortunately, it could show up anywhere on the stage.

 A short review of the game

Fists of Resistance is an interesting take on the beat-em-up genre. While it definitely has potential, the player is a bit limited in what they can do. This is likely due to the time constraints they had. While not a great game by any means, it could be one with significant modding. A version of this with multiple abilities and weapons would make it quite good.
