A whole weekend of ecchi for readers starting today with 30-sai Hoken Taiiku. This show and all the shows I review this weekend are not to be viewed by children.
30-sai Hoken Taiiku is a show about a 30-year-old man named Hayao who has a god helping him to get rid of his virginity. In order to do so, there are special class sessions they have with the god forcing Hayao into many awkward situations. Eventually Hayao manages to get into a relationship with Natsu who has an A.K. field to repel people. Natsu happens to have gods helping her lose her virginity as well.
Most of the ecchi portions of this show are heavily censored, at least in the version I watched. If you enjoy ecchi shows there should be nothing too strange in this show for most people.
The beginning of 30-sai Hoken Taiiku is not that great. It is mostly teaching Hayao about dealing with women and it is only saved by the comedy put into it. Later in the series it picks up when Natsu has a major part in the show. The two inexperienced 30-year-olds make for some interesting moments in 30-sai Hoken Taiiku.
I also enjoyed watching their romance develop and seeing what the gods thought would help towards their main goal. The only downer was with all the ecchi and the topic of the show. The end did not go as expected, because you would expect a significant payoff after all this teasing about sex.
The opening does not really seem to go with the show well, since it is very upbeat and cute. It is still good though. I prefer the ending which shows the two main characters at different stages of their life at the end of each episode. Seeing what they looked like each time gave me a reason to watch each ending.
The comedy for this show was a bit different than usual. Of course their were many ecchi jokes. Some of the jokes were plays off of other anime series which is something I always enjoy. There were also small touches to watch for throughout. Overall the comedy was better than the standard ecchi show.
If this show had been better in the beginning it could have been quite good overall. It still is pretty good for an ecchi show since many of them are not that good sadly.
Ecchi: 2/5
Show: 3/5 Beginning could have been better
