This show is not for children. This article contains some spoilers.
Dororon Enma-kun Meeramera is the most recent Enma-kun incarnation. If you have enjoyed the others you will most likely enjoy this one as well.
For those who have not heard of Dororon Enma-kun Meeramera at all before, it is about the exploits of the demon patrol who are supposed to be capturing demons that are causing trouble for humans. The demon patrol does not really capture the demons though. This show has a lot of fanservice and other trademarks of Go Nagai works.
The story tying most of the series together is that they are trying to find out who is making these demons attack humans. This is the excuse for having a new demon or two to fight every episode. Even with the monster of the day type storyline the show is enjoyable. All the episodes are pretty different instead of formulaic like monster of the day usually turns out to be. In the end of the series it becomes less monster of the day and more story driven to actually wrap up the series.
The three main characters are Enma, Princess Yukiko and Harumi. Enma is a pervert and that is most of his personality in this series. Harumi is a student at Youkai Elementary School who helps the demon patrol when she can. She is the straight man in this show. Yukiko is the eternal damsel in distress. Usually this ends up with something going into her kimono.

Some of the more important side characters are Chapeauji and Kapperu. Chapeauji is an old hat that gives the team advice and tells them about important things they need to know. Kapperu is the gofer for the group who gets knocked around a lot. The series did not have very deep characters or have much character development, but I guess that isn’t really expected from a comedy.
The visuals for this show were very important. The animation and character designs were nicely done. A lot of the comedy for this show is visual with many sight gags or references to other shows.
Dororon Enma-kun Meeramera is a remake of a show that was done very well. It is not really for people who don’t like slapstick or fanservice. I enjoy those things so I think the show was very good. The show contained both monster of the day and story driven episodes, but does it well making the story good all the way through. The characters are not very deep, but it isn’t really required for a comedy. The animation is fantastic getting all the jokes across well. In some cases I wish I didn’t understand what was going on.
