Cube World Update

Wollay, the maker of Cube World, has been working hard making new features for his game. That isn’t the only thing he has been up to. He has just recently been hired by Mojang.

Wollay has been hired by Mojang and will be helping them with their games. His game Cube World will remain his own property according to Notch. That is a good idea because there have already been people commenting on the youtube video about what Mojang would do to Wollay’s game. So now we can not only look forward to Cube World, but hopefully Wollay will add many good things to Mojang games in the future.

Notch claimed that they are going to plug a keyboard into his brain and sell whatever comes out. He even made a handy picture to show how as seen below.  Notch's Plan

Update: Wollay decided not to move to Stockholm and join Mojang. Notch says that he understands that Wollay wants his independence because he did the same thing when he started Mojang. Regretfully, Mojang had to return Wollay’s brain as well.

Well now onto what has been going on with Cube World.  Since we last talked about Cube World Wollay has been hard at work and many new features have been added. There are now villages, a day and night cycle,  rivers, waterfalls, improved trees, new enemies and quests.

Some of the new enemies are crows, berserker dwarves, hornets, lizardmen, and plains runners.

Quests are the latest addition to Cube World.

Wollay has added killing quests and plans to add even more complicated quests. For now all the player would get for completing a quest is experience, but in the future he plans to have rewards for quests like items. When you get a quest there is a nice highlighted area on the minimap for where you need to go. As a player who has gotten lost on quests many times, I like that feature a lot. The quests are randomly generated which is pretty interesting.

Cube World Accepting a Quest

This is what it looks like right now when you are accepting a quest.

We will keep you informed about any more news with Wollay or Cube World.

Damn… I wish that Wollay took that job. If he did, aminecrafts combat system wouldve been greatly improved.
