Cherry Tree High Comedy Club is about Miley who wants to start a comedy club like the school had before that produced a popular comedy duo. Unfortunately to start the club she has to have 5 members and she only has two.
Miley doesn’t get discouraged by this though and tries to find people who aren’t in clubs to recruit. She has 6 possible recruits for the club and by helping them with their problems she becomes closer to them. When she is finally their friend they join the Cherry Tree High Comedy Club.
The stories for the different recruits in Cherry Tree High Comedy Club are pretty varied. They mostly have to do with problems that Miley helps them to work out in the cutscenes in one way or another. The characters range from shy to celebrity chaser and all feel like they are straight our of an anime. The whole story feels like it could come from a standard anime centered around the club. At the end I hoped I could learn more about how the club went after it was formed.
The art for each of the characters is quite nice. They even made each of the characters their own uniform for school that reflects their personal style which was cute. The backgrounds for all the areas are detailed. The only problem I had with the art was that the words on the shirts were backwards when they flipped the characters.
The new game plus feature will really help you to get the good ending, by letting you keep the levels for conversational topics that you earned previously. Nice thing to have since it would most likely be difficult to try to get them and do everything else in one go.
Overall this game is truly for lovers of anime from the artstyle to the story it will feel familiar, but new. It is a great value for your own interactive anime game.
