Capcom is bringing a remastered version of DuckTales and a double pack of the Dungeons and Dragons games. Both Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara are coming over. They will also come out for multiple platforms and PC.
The Original DuckTales from Capcom
The original DuckTales was brought out by Capcom during a time where they cared about franchises. They put a huge amount of effort into every part of the game. From the music to the level design it was all high quality. Everyone was pleasantly surprised. Many of us grew up remembering the game as one of our favorite platformers.
The New DuckTales
The new game is getting a graphical overhaul. Everything from the music to the sound effects has changed. They have even promised to have real Disney voice talent. It sounds good, but hopefully they have not changed it too much. There will also be additional content and features such as a Scrooge museum and tutorial.
The Original Dungeons and Dragons Games
These beat-em-ups were masterfully done by Capcom. They gave a level of depth the genre had not seen before. At the same time the art was quite excellent. This new version will likely be very similar to the old. They will not be redoing much of anything. There will of course be additional online features though. It will be nice to play this 4-player on PC.
The few additions to this Capcom classic are things such as a stat tracking system. Both games will feature unique Wii U options as well. Finally, there will be a house rules system for Dungeons and Dragons that lets you customize your game. Perhaps the most exciting thing is that it will have significant netplay features.
Capcom Releases for these Games
DuckTales Remastered is coming out for XBLA, XPS3 and Wii U. No PC version is forthcoming. The tentative release is this summer, although a date has not been nailed down. The two-pack titled Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara will be out for PSN, XBLA, Wii U and PC. The tentative release is set for June with this game.
