Yes so, Call of Duty Black Ops II is king of games once again. And I could not possibly be more annoyed about this. No matter what the subculture of gaming writes. No matter what we do, none of it seems to matter. Games like this head to the top regardless.
Why Call of Duty: Black Ops II is such a problem
I’m going to go over all my beefs with this series:
- It gives money to an industry heavyweight that does not like to innovate. The problem with this should be obvious.
- It appeals to a fanbase that does not care for originality. Is that the entire fanbase? No. But it is a huge chunk.
- It rehashes FPS gameplay that was old years ago
- The teabagging and 360 noscope community was heavily reinforced by the Call of Duty Series.
- Foot knifing, spraying and praying and generally all the other things that annoy skilled CS:S or Battlefield players are staples of this game. Not to say that those other games are perfect, but they are not quite this flawed.
The Mainstream is becoming everything
Mainstream gamers are becoming the only group designed for. This has a large number of problems in itself:
- Gamers complain that games treat them like idiots. However, the mainstream buys up any game that treats them as an idiot. See the problem here? Developers are only right to make games for the lowest denominator. That is where the money is.
- The Call of Duty community itself, is about the worst one you could imagine. Only small pockets of it are tolerable. This is because it panders to immature gamers.
- The huge money gained from this is used to pay for dishonest reviews from the press. Right now the majority of the gaming press industry is a joke.
All of these factors come together to change the industry for the worse. If you feel the same way, speak up about it. If you don’t, just go read our neutral news on it and talk about how nice it is to see the game on top again.

Could not agree with you more. These games are all about primitive senses and impressions. And this is what buys people.
