Worms Ultimate Mayhem PC Review

Worms Ultimate Mayhem takes the best aspects from several other versions of Worms and puts them together.

So what is the main draw of Worms Ultimate Mayhem? The Multiplayer. Smashing a friend’s worm into the ground before firing a giant missile from your Cowboy Worm’s peacemaker, sending them flying through walls and into water. The fact that it has so many different ways to play keep this latest offering from Team 17 fresh.

Worms Ultimate Mayhem Airstrike

So what exactly does Worms Ultimate Mayhem include? It has all the various classic weapons, from the Homing Missile to the Airstrike. But it combines an extensive unlock system with easy-to-use controls for a good experience. The camera is also much more efficient, as it was a serious problem in previous games that has been greatly improved.

The camera also has a useful secondary viewfinder. This  allows you to use remote weapons such as the sheep with precision. You don’t have to fumble with frustrating controls and cameras that make you miss anymore.  There is also a very useful version of the first person camera.

Worms Ultimate Mayhem has a huge variety of different modes. There are also sections of story mode that have the signature worms humor. It also includes a ton of different levels to play on. These include castles, construction sites and temples that are fully destructible.

You also have much higher level of customization in your weapons, teams and even arenas. No Worms game thus far has done it quite to this level.

The only problem is that it doesn’t add very much to the Worms formula. While it combines the best aspects of many previous games, it isn’t exactly a quantum leap in Worms progress.

Final Score: 4/5 Worms Ultimate Mayhem is a solid game that addresses the concerns fans had in the past. It has the best gameplay out of all 3D worms games. The game’s only shortcoming is that it plays pretty much the same as previous offerings.
