Worms Revolution is just that, a revolution in the series. Today we are going to do a preview of this game. We were fortunate enough to get an early copy.
As usual, all these shots are of a pre-release version, and should be treated as such.
The Gameplay of Worms Revolution
The gameplay itself has really evolved. The different types of worms really mix it up. However this time around you create formations. You can have all soldiers, all heavies or any combination. This really switches up the gameplay. The water physics are great too. You have the original deadly water, but you also have water flow. Sometimes beads of water stay on an area.
The game itself controls very well. Most of the time I couldn’t even tell this was a review copy. The core game is done and is quite solid. This is probably the best Worms title so far.
Tools are back as well. You can expect to enjoy the ninja rope again. They wouldn’t dream of removing the dragon punch and other items. However all of these look better than before. The graphics are surprisingly sleek for a Worms Revolution. They even have effects and weapons such as flamethrowers now.
Customization in Worms Revolution
As you might expect, Worms Revolution has the old options. You can change your gravestones, appearance and even victory dance. They are probably working right now on adding more options.
When is Worms Revolution coming out?
The best place to get it is on Steam. It retails for $14.99 USD. It will be out on October 10th, 2012. Be sure to check out the Team 17 site as well. We expect that the game will have even more content. They are also getting in on the trend of the “Season Pass” that so many developers are into. We talked about this trend before here. Right now the season pass is $13.49 USD and gets you:
- The Level Editor
- Funfair Pack
- Mars Pack
- Medieval Tales Pack
