Dynasty Warriors Orochi 3 has been announced for a European March 30th release, March 20th for the U.S. While it is a standard Dynasty Warriors game, the roster is massive with some exciting choices.
Among those exciting choices are characters from other cultures. Both Achilles and Jeanne d’Arc (or Joan of Arc as some may know her) are playable characters. It seems that the Warriors Orochi series is going to be the Smash Bros of Tecmo Koei.
At some point we’ll probably see characters from all of their games here.The hero of Ninja Gaiden, Ryu Hyabusa, is also going to be playable. He uses ninja magic and quick slashes in his attacks.
Other features will be returning as well, such as an expanded relationship system. Now there will be more missions and relationships to build between characters. Building these relationships on and off the field will allow you to unlock new areas and attacks for your characters.
Once you have beaten a level, you can go back into it and edit it. You can even collect custom events to alter your stages even further. These stages can be added online so that you can put your own creations up. This also means that you’ll be able to play a wide variety of creations from other players as well.
The series has some additions that are new to Warriors Orochi, but have been seen in other games. These include:
- Tag teams of three characters, as seen in other series entries.
- Two-player split-screen options
- Two-player split screen Story and Free Modes.
- Four character stats, speed, power, technique and wonder.
- Dash Chain- A simply combo off of a dash.
- Counterattack- Just what the name says, it can stun enemies and knock them back.
- Support attack- You can switch a character in to help with an attack from outside.
- True Triple Attack- All 3 characters jump in for a devastatingly brutal attack.
