War of the Roses, the spiritual successor to Mount and Blade, is looking for more accuracy. As a result the developers are actually using real armors of the day. The War of the Roses promises to be both brutal and accurate.
War of the Roses Armors
As you can see above, the armors are era-appropriate. Not everyone will be in full plate. Not everyone will be well defended. Many of your people will just have basic outfits. The weapons will also be ones you could find in the era. You can also expect appropriate siege engines as well.
War of the Roses and Brutal Animation
The animation is going to be a real departure from Mount and Blade. Many of the shots are fierce and vicious. You may see someone get stabbed once and die. However you are just as likely to see a person stabbed multiple times for no reason.

The developers are having a contest right now. You can post a coat of arms for them. If it wins you get to have it in the game. Some of them are a bit amusing, one is even an ale mug.
Getting War of the Roses
Right now a few places are handing out beta codes. However, you can also pre-order the game on Steam in order to get bonuses. You can get special equipment and even a game sountrack. Overall it is a decent deal for $23.99 USD. This is a game that we are very excited for because the previous game was a bit buggy. Hopefully they will have ironed out most of the bugs and made an amazing game. Many games hit their stride with the second major game in the series. We think that this will be yet another one of those games.
