War of Rights promises an FPS experience set in the American Civil War. We’ve seen this sort of format work before with World War II and many historical European wars. Could this become the next big trend in historical FPS gaming?
War of Rights and Historical Accuracy
History buffs will love this game as each map contains the regiments that fought there in the uniforms that they fought in. If you are looking for a game that gives you the full, real experience of the American Civil War then this is it.
The World and War of Rights
Open plains, forest warfare, and farms are all big parts of the game work. It’s all exquisitely rendered in Cryengine.
Each side will receive significant reinforcements over the course of the battle.
Realism in War of Rights
Heaps of bodies will fall into piles over the course of the game. Doomed charges will come up over and over. From what we’ve seen so far it looks like things will be as gritty and realistic as you would expect. We hope they also add extra touches like “Hardtack” and “Fatback”.
Sections of each army will also need to retreat over the course of each battle.
FPS/RTS Combination Tactics in War of Rights
For us the most interesting aspect is that they want to add orders in the command center before each battle. So you can tell your troops where to go and then fight as one of them. If this works well then it will have an edge no other historical game has.
Fighting will be thick and heavy throughout each portion of the game.
