A major former designer for the Ultima Underworld series has started a new company known as OtherSide entertainment. He is attempting to create a similar RPG to his older one with an updated engine and graphics. While it won’t have the Ultima name it will definitely have much of the gameplay that the series had.
Underworld Ascension So Far
The game is supposed to have a classic RPG system that is quite similar to the previous Underworld games as well. These classic games are fairly well known among PC gamers for providing hours of meaty gameplay. They certainly were quite good back in the day.

There are two types of games. Those that get publicity before anything big is revealed about the game and those that don’t. Even a big name does not insure that a developer will get in one group or the other.

As far as we can tell the only member of the team with any experience is Paul Neurath himself, who worked on the previous titles as well. As of now we have no evidence the game exists. Nor do any of the sites larger than us. But there is still a media frenzy over it. Why is that?
Creating Publicity for Underworld Ascension
So how did Mr. Neurath create this much publicity with no product to show and no team that we can find? He and his PR team did a few things. First they wrote a good press release and then they put it up everywhere they could find. It’s how we and many other sites noticed them as well. Connections also do not hurt.
