Capcom very much enjoyed releasing a great many editions of Street Fighter II. Ultra Street Fighter IV has announced and it looks like things are back to the status quo. Today we’ll be going over what this pack brings to you.
The EVO 2013 Announcement
Ultra Street Fighter IV was announced for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC over the weekend. Much like the super edition this is going to come with new characters and areas in addition to a new balance patch.
The Ultra Street Fighter IV Additions
There are several characters slated an apparently a mystery character as well. Let us go down each one:
- Characters from the Alpha, Third Strike and other games. Poison, Hugo, Elena and Rolento.
- Six new environments such as Pitstop 109, Cosmic Elevator and Half Pipe. We wonder how Hugo is going to be fighting and be in a background too.
They have also hinted at a variety of new modes. We wonder if we could see some team modes as well.
Capcom and Another Expansion
So why is this just an expansion instead of SF V? Most likely because they want to save that for PS4 and Xbox One. All the major companies are preparing for the next wave but are not yet familiar enough with the hardware yet. No one wants to rush out their next flagship too early and have it look bad. This will likely be their last version of the series on this console though, as they’d be pushing things with another one.
Getting Ultra Street Fighter IV
Those who own Super Street Fighter IV or Arcade Edition can upgrade for $14.99 on the digital edition. Everyone who buys the full version for $39.99 will get all the previous costume DLC. Ultra Street Fighter IV is currently slated for a release on all platforms in America and Europe around the start of 2014. It should be available for pre-purchase across all platforms in a short while.
