Anime News Network has reported that a new fan Anime has come out for Touhou.
The short Touhou film is actually incredibly well animated. It also features a ton of favorite characters, Reimu, Marisa and Alice Margatroid. Most importantly Cirno shows up looking defeated, which is odd because she is the strongest. It features various parts of earlier spoiler releases from the group, added to new footage. Overall it is extremely well done and animated.
Since they have started making quite a bit of money off of this initial project we can expect more Anime in the future. One day we might even see a full Touhou syndicated TV series.
We should also mention that a full version of 10 Desires was released at Comiket 80. The gameplay is somewhat similar to the earlier “Undefined Fantastic Object”. There is a soul collection system which allows you to get extra lives and bombs depending on which spirits you collect.
The art style of the game looks mostly the same. In true Japanese happy fun time style there are many lasers and colorful power-ups to gain. Many of the old characters will be returning such as Sakuya. Another important addition to this game is “Spell Practice” mode, which was previously only available in Imperishable Night. As with many games of this generation, Touhou appears to be going back to its roots.
Despite all the fan rumors and the yelling, Mima is not the final boss and is likely not even the extra boss. We won’t spoil it for you, but you may end up being a little confused when you get to the end.
For those among you who are hardcore fans, you can check out Manpuku Jinj which is the group that created the video. Be warned though, the page contains mystical runes from beyond the far seas.

Ten Desires is pretty easy, especially compared to Subterranean Animism.
The 2nd episode came out already!? I gotta check it out!
