Toriko Domination- Toriko beats Bleach down- Nerd Age

In a turn of events that should come as no surprise to anyone who follows anime, Toriko has dethroned Bleach.

This was an unfortunately long time coming, as fans continued to support bleach even through the terrible Aizen finale. Regardless, Toriko served up excellent story after excellent story culminating in the amazing Century Soup arc. Needless to say this is a boon to anime lovers everywhere who have the least bit of taste, and a wake up call to Kubo Tite that his sub-par work isn’t tolerated anymore.

Or perhaps it would be if Kubo weren’t continuing his lackluster arcs and lack of backgrounds with the Truebring storyline. He can coast along on a popularity derived from early in the series, when it actually deserved it. Is Kubo washed up? Washed up puts it too kindly.

Update: Toriko has just continued to get better. With new moves from many Gourmet Hunters, and much more plot development. The anime for Toriko has also been very good lately, although they did unfortunately add a female character on for filler. On the upside though, this did not significantly alter the show.

One Piece is still doing great, as usual, with them finally getting to the fighting. Franky in particular has gotten even crazier by making a giant robot.  Overall it is shaping up to have a bunch of huge changes.

And then there is good old Bleach. While Kubo apparently listened to his fans and canceled the Halloween Costume, it is too early to say whether  it is getting better. While the ark is definitely shape up to get better, it looks like the series could once again devolve into a million chapters of mindless fighting. That would be rather unfortunate as it looks poised to have some decent character development. We will keep you posted.
