That is right, Torchlight II is up for pre-order right now. You can currently get it on Steam and Perfect World Entertainment. The game retails for $19.99, 14.99 pound sterlings, or 18.99 euros. Steam also is getting a four pack pre-order. They decided to do this to build buzz after their PAX east reception.
Torchlight II for the uninitiated
Torchlight is basically an indie version of Diablo. It takes the game back to its roots that many people are sad to see the game have left. You are set in your basic fantasy world attempting to stop the spread of evil. It has the normal features such as special items you would expect from a game like this, but with the additional twist of pets.
The Torchlight II character classes
Torchlight II has some very interesting classes this time around. Let us go down a few of these:
- There is the gun-slinging Outlander who uses secret weapons as their ace in the hole. They are going to need three coffins. Well, maybe four.
- The Embermage is back with new spells to reduce your opponents to cinders. If you want to do some big damage, this class is for you.
- The Berserker for everyone who just wants to run in and be the best their is at what you do. As you might imagine this characters has some skills that deal some extreme damage, from what we have seen.
- If you want something done right, you have to fix it yourself with the Engineer. The thinking class for the thinking man or woman, who loves it when a plan comes together.
Some other great features of Torchlight II
Not only are they keeping it real to the roots, but they also have moddability and an open world. The final thing we find interesting is that they have a new game plus in this one.
