The Be Mine Bundle and the Bundle in a Box - Nerd Age

Two new groups of games are coming out soon, the Be Mine Bundle and the Bundle in a Box. If you love bundles as much as we do you might want to check them out. The only problem right now is that we do not have a lot of information about either one.

The Be Mine Bundle

The Be Mine Bundle is a Valentine’s Day celebration. It will be running from February 14th to 21st. There will be 5 games that you can redeem on Steam. You can get the package for a minimum of $1.  It’s a good price, although we are a little confused what the games have to do with Valentine’s Day. It does not look like they actually have any relation to it. While they have not released what the games will be, it looks like:

• A car game, which could be PAM or Wasteland Angel among others.
• Sideways New York
• Xotic or the Ball, depending on who you ask. We think it is probably the Ball.
• BEEP
• The Haunted: Hell’s Reach

These are some decent games if they turn out to be correct. 20% of proceeds will be going to Child’s Play charity. They have also mentioned vague incentives for those who donate. We’ll have to find out what they are when it comes out. Be sure to check out their site at groupees.com/bemine.

The Bundle in a Box

Indie game developer Kyttaro games is creating their own package. This group will showcase original creations with what they are calling “some of the best game designers and developers”. The are also claiming that these games will be “exclusive”. If all of these boasts turn out to be true, it could be a serious competitor in the market.  So  You can check out their Twitter and Facebook for more updates. At the moment not much is going on, but updates are promised.

The rise of bundles

If you haven’t figured it out now, this is the next big thing. Publications use them to gain funds (Desura, Indie DB and related sites with Indie Royale), developers use them to get their games out and relative unknown developers use them to break in. For all the would-be developers out there, take note. Because bundles aren’t just the future, they are the present.
