Some older Tales of Symphonia games are getting a new facelift and a re-release in a new package. Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World are both getting repackaged and redone together. It will have updated graphics and new content for players to explore.
The New Additions to Tales of Symphonia Chronicles
The only new additions they have been extremely clear on are updated “HD” graphics. This could mean a lot of things but we at least expect sharper models. The combat system of each game should remain mostly unchanged. As far as additional content we can only be left to speculate. We hope it will at least be a few new quests and monsters here and there. The new content is also very important for the Dawn of the New World game as it needs some fresh monsters to collect. That will really be a deciding factor in whether some of those who already have the game will want to buy it once again.
Tales of Symphonia Chronicles PS3 Exclusive
In a surprising move they have decided to make this collection a PS3 exclusive. We would guess this is because of all the attention they have paid to Nintendo previously. We have to wonder whether this will be a permanent shift of Namco’s priorities. Time will tell whether the Wii U starts getting the same games in this series that made some previous systems popular.
The Tales of Symphonia Chronicles Release
The collection right now only has a blanket release date, 2014. In fact it may not end up being called Tales of Symphonia Chronicles because that is simply a working title. It may be renamed shortly or in a bit. We expect that this collection will be priced competitively as well which should save you some money. Namco-Bandai is expected to put some more information on their site about it in the coming days.
