In Sword Art Online episode 6 we find out the answer to the mystery. Fortunately for the characters in Sword Art Online, no one found out how to get around the system to kill players. Unfortunately for the watchers the whole mystery is kind of hard to believe when you have all the pieces.
The Golden Apple guild in Sword Art Online missed a lot of things that should have been more obvious. First of all they were a small guild and were probably around each other a lot. They were close enough to stage this whole thing to find the traitor, so why didn’t anyone notice that Grimlock shared his storage with the leader. If they had they probably would have been more suspicious of him. Also he was obviously having a hard time adapting to his new circumstances.
It is enough that he has cracked under the pressure and no one noticed. They still trusted him enough to let Grimlock in on the plan. Finally, Schmitt should have thought something was weird about getting strange orders from his bag. He should have discussed this with his guild mates and it would have never happened.
A lot of people seemed to think that Grimlock suddenly going from bragging about his kill to being remorseful was really forced, but I see it a bit differently. Grimlock seemed pretty unhinged by the environment of Sword Art Online. If he truly went mad due to the stresses of the new environment, he easily could have thought he was doing what was best for her. Grimlock could have seriously been shocked that people thought he was not doing the right thing and acting out of love. Hopefully his old guild mates are taking him to get the help he needs, if that even exists in Sword Art Online.

The part of episode 6 where Asuna gives Kirito a sandwich ticks me off. It is a sandwich, not a gourmet meal. A guy should be able to make a sandwich as easily as a girl, but apparently in Sword Art Online selling sandwiches could make you rich. Also making a sandwich is not a good example of cooking. What girl tells a guy that they can cook just because she made a sandwich? Next she is going to let him know she toasts really well too.
I wish that the mystery had more to it than a lack of information given to us. The knowledge of durability of items and shared storage together should have made this case never exist. Especially since they knew that nobody saw notice of someone winning the battle. Hopefully the main story is as good as I keep hearing it is because the build up has gone one pretty long.
