Sword Art Online episode 4 is about how Kirito help a girl named Silica revive her pet. Kirito also had another objective though to help punish a group that was player killing.
Sword Art Online episode 4 shows that Kirito learned nothing from what happened last time. I can not believe that he once again was joining up with a lower level player and taking her through a higher level area. Things could have easily gone wrong like they did in the last episode. I hope that this show is not going to be Kirito making the exact same mistakes over and over again. I also wonder why we do not usually see Kirito on the front lines. For two episodes he has been way below his level. I would like to see him fighting against things that are even slightly a challenge for him. Instead of having a entire group of guys beating on him and he instantly heals it up.
Player killing was addressed in this episode which in this setting should not be seen as an option. The more people there are the more likely they will all get out safely. Of course though some people are going to be skeptical of people dying in real life due to the game. Titan’s Hand does not believe that people can really die since they have no concrete proof, so they feel no qualms behind killing people in a game.
It was weird to me that in Sword Art Online, which is all about survival, that they would give the players a way to revive a pet. Wouldn’t it make more sense if you are doing a survival game to have the pets die for real too? Isn’t that giving them back a resource they lost? They should have to get a new pet and train it. I guess the pet revival was just showing us more about Kirito as a person.
I gotta say the leader of the Silver Flags was pretty lenient. The Titan’s Hand guild killed his four friends and he just wants them put in jail. I guess he does not want their lives on his hands. If I was in his place I would want them dead. Even if you are not sure that people really die for real, you should be more careful when there is a chance of killing someone. It is pretty sad though that the Silver Flags leader had to talk to so many people to find someone to help him get justice.
How convenient was it that the episode with the loli girl was the episode with tentacle monsters. Then got tentacles lifting her and almost swallowing her. It was pretty cliche and it cheapened the episode quite a bit.
A really weird point for me was when Rosalia was saying that Silica was more appealing than her, so she could not get boys to heal her. Maybe a large amount of guys like flat chested young girls, but there should still be plenty who are looking for a busty sexy adult woman. There are usually enough white knights in games for everyone. But then Rosalia was not a good person, so she was probably just lying.
I am glad this episode of Sword Art Online was mostly more light hearted than the rest though. Watching Kirito and Silica plan their mission and making their way through the garden level easily was a nice change. No one died at the end and justice was served.
