People have been trying to combine building with FPS games for some time now. The current and most promising contender for this game is StarForge. It is an FPS building game with RPG elements similar to Borderlands.
Starforge and Easy Building
Any Minecraft Style game needs to have an easy building system. StarForge meets this requirement. You will also have a wide variety of resources to check out and use for your buildings. So far it has been quite easy to use, it works like building blocks. You can dig very easily in this game, allowing you to create trenches or moats. In our early adventures, we easily made some simple structures.
Fly me to the Moon
The developers have promised you the ability to build mountains into space later on in the game. If this comes to fruition, this eternal building system could set the game apart from the many competitors it has.
The Environment of Starforge
So far the game has some very beautiful environments, even early on. There are also going to be weather conditions and rain is already implemented. More than that, there are already clouds and space conditions implemented in the game. We can expect even more than this to come later on.
RTS and FPS Elements
This game is going to have persistent death in one multiplayer mode, and a mode called Fort Wars which is similar to other base destruction games. Both of these have quite a bit of promise. Hopefully they will have a way to manage the servers later on, as such a thing can be a daunting task. We have yet to see the extent of the RPG elements in this early build, but we are expecting something similar to Borderlands.
Testing StarForge for Yourself
We got the game from one of their direct downloads. But they also have a Torrent and a main site. This game is being developed by the people at CodeHatch. You can also check out their forums or provide support through download links. They are also taking donations to help them get the game going. Honestly though, this game seems like it should be on Kickstarter to us.

YES~
how do you get it to work
Just run it, let it sit for a bit because it takes a while to load.
