New gaming sales sites are opening up every month or so it seems. ShinyLoot is the latest in this line and we want to take a look at what they have to offer for all of us.
We are covering because unless they’ve done a great job covering it up, they appear to be an indie company in their own right. They aren’t backed by any big names or huge amounts of money.
What ShinyLoot Offers
As you might expect they offer hundreds of less famous titles that aren’t on Steam or Desura. They have many Desura titles and a much smaller selection of Steam ones. However there are a few really good ones such as Anodyne which is really great. Of course we have to tell you that the selection so far is a bit lackluster.
That being said this is a new company and they should be given a chance. That being said they have some really excellent titles on the site such as Kenshi and Anodyne that also come with additional Steam keys or options. They also have an excellent game library option similar to GoG.
ShinyLoot Has Room to Grow
They have a deep indie focus and dedication to not adding any more DRM than the developer intended. In the current market the big names in the sales market are moving away from indie games, with the exceptions of Steam and Desura.
As you would expect people are seeing an opportunity to pick up the dropped indie ball, so to speak. We hope that they keep their focus on indie games without DRM. They could eventually grow into a big name.
