Samurai Flamenco episode 9 is about King Torture taking things a step further by torturing someone to get to Flamenco Diamond. Once he has Flamenco Diamond he holds her hostage. All this after King Torture’s monsters become so commonplace that they show up at the end of the news and Flamenco Diamond decides to stop fighting them.
Turns out King Torture does not just have that name for show as shown this episode of Samurai Flamenco. Not only does he torture people, but finds out what is most important to them so he can use it to get them to work for him. All the minions that died did so willingly to keep the plan moving forward.
King Torture does not appear to be any of the people that would be easy to predict. He might not even be someone that the viewers know at all. From the way King Torture is talking about build up he might be just like Samurai Flamenco, but so interested in the villains of shows that he wants to be one. Apparently all that has happened with his minions so far has been going as planned to lead up to a fight between them. Who would think like that, but another otaku interested in hero shows?
In the show one of the supporting cast brings up that the minions could be giving up to make the attacks a commonplace like they are. It appears that he was wrong though. The villain does not seem interested in hurting the populace at all. If King Torture had a purpose besides building up to the climax like in a show, it would probably be to distract Samurai Flamenco. He would not want Flamenco coming after him ahead of time or realizing he was the real target.
After Guillotine Gorilla the monsters became a bit silly and pointless even King Torture had a funky obsession. It looked like the show would keep its light hearted spirit, but now things look like they are getting pretty dark with torture, kidnappings, and turning people into villains. There does not seem to be any way that the show will remain the way it has been. Hopefully the show will still be good despite this, but it definitely isn’t boring.
