Samurai Flamenco episodes 12 and 13 did not have a lot of interesting things in them. The team was easily handling the four kings, found out there were more From Beyond members than that, and eventually realized there was going to be an all out attack. Finally the populace was informed which is where 14 picks up. This is the good part because finally the big battle is upon us. Now the populace is panicking until Samurai Flamenco talks to the masses and gets them to cool their heads. The day of the battle comes and the good guys are not having an easy time of it until Red Axe returns with tons of heroes from sentai shows.
Samurai Flamenco episode 14 shows that Red Axe should never be counted out. While he appears to be a flake he always shows up when he is needed. The Flamengers appear to have not totally given up on him if the tears and the hankie show anything. Hopefully this is the last time they act like he is goofing off when he is needed. It is starting to get old.
The battle itself was pretty nicely done. They show several sides of the battle from in the Flamengers base, to in the town at the police station with Goto, and out with the Flamengers. Each area of the battle was getting beaten down and discouraged when the rest of the heroes came to help. After that everyone was able to get their courage back and help out. I especially liked the scenes when they showed the average citizens coming to help out the heroes. Also Red Axe talking about heroes the whole time was a nice touch.
The ending of episode 14 leaves me with many questions. It appears with all the new heroes to back them up and the regular people helping out that the Flamengers will have no problem finishing this all out attack. At the speed that this show has gone through enemies it should be over next episode. What then? Will the show go in a different direction once again? Also after an enemy that was an admirer of villains and now an enemy that appears to be just like Samurai Flamenco what kind of enemy would they do after this? There is still so much time left, but once again it feels like the show should be reaching the end.
