Rising Storm is the new WW2 era war game from Tripwire Interactive. Lead United States troops armed with brutal machine guns or lead the Japanese forces with honor and a Katana. Of course they have guns too but swords are more fun.
The Next Chapter for Red Orchestra
Rising Storm is in many ways the next chapter in Red Orchestra. It takes place during the fight between United States and Japanese forces. It also tries to shake up the formula of previous games. Everything from the locales to the setups should be significantly different. However at the same time it is an FPS on the same engine. So if you loved Red Orchestra then this game will be worth checking out.
Full Compatibility
All of the multiplayer content from Red Orchestra 2 is included. The game is also going to be fully compatible with the previous game. This means that players will be able to enjoy a huge number of maps. This is a very interesting and surprising feature. If Tripwire keeps this up, they could have something amazing: A multiplayer FPS that stretches from WW2 to modern combat, with over 100 different maps. We hope that such a lofty goal one day becomes a reality. Too many shooters today are okay with being mediocre. We hope this one stretches for greatness.
Unique Weapons in Rising Storm
A major draw of this game is the weaponry. Flamethrowers and Japanese Knee Mortars are just two of the interesting weapons. We hope that they really take the weaponry to the extreme in this one. Perhaps sometime there will even be experimental weapons. The WW2 genre has been used heavily so they need to spice it up.
Coming Soon
Unfortunately this game is not out yet but will be coming to Steam soon. If you want something to tide you over, look at Red Orchestra on Steam. We hope to have a preview for you as soon as copies are available.
