The Abertay University Prototype Fund for developers

Round 4 of the Abertay University Prototype Fund is open for developers. If you are interested, you can apply on their site. This grant is for up to 25,000 pounds for the development of games and interactive content. They can not only provide you with this but they offer even more help:

• Funding is the basic part of the project.
• They have experts who can help you with it.
• They can offer space on their campus.
• They can fill in gaps within your team due to graduates.
• They can offer significant networking.

In order to be eligible for this grant you have to apply. You also have to show that you have an innovative product with clear market viability. This could prove very useful for any of you developers who are just out of school.

Game Connection America 2012 names Phobos their best selected project

Games Connection recently named Phobos as their best game at their American event. Why do we bring this up for developers in particular? Because some day you could win an award like this. More than just the pride of getting the award, you will get significant press coverage. We had not heard of Phobos until they won this award. So we really cannot stress enough the importance of events such as these.

But what about the game itself?

Phobos follows in the footsteps of many other thriller/puzzler games. In the same vein as Penumbra, it has striking visuals with a creepy atmosphere. This particular type of game is very popular on the indie scene at the moment. But honestly, your game could be the next one like this if you keep trying.
