PlanetSide 2 Nears Release - Planet Time - Nerd Age

PlanetSide 2 will have their beta ending shortly. November 20th is the release date for the game. The long beta was much needed but now it is in a workable state.

Basically they go over some developer diaries in this one. They also go over the music of PlanetSide 2. Overall it seems like they are kind of winding down for the release. It seems that a lot of last minute changes were made. Everything from a change in how the game is played to the overall flow of the game. It seems that the crew wants a slower pace to the game. They do not really want to see a tidal wave running an area over. This command center was amusing just for watching Matt annoying people who are trying to work. That is always funny to see. Also their shirts kept changing which was also nice.

The part about the music was perhaps the most interesting part of the Command Center.

Some final changes to PlanetSide 2 before the end of beta

Changes about in the recent patch. Let us go down a few of the many changes:

• Base facility ownership bonuses have been added
• Tug of war mechanics replace tickets
• Jump height reduced
• Shields on vehicles regenerate
• Pain fields in spawn points
• Ikanami Bio Lab Terminals will now spawn MBts
• New weapon certifications
• Sniper rifles have additional attachments
• Grenade warning indicator radius has been increased
• Grenades explode even after death
• MAX Kinetic Armor only resists small arms
• Facilities have additional defenses
• Biolabs increase health regen, Tech Plants are needed to spawn the main battle tanks and an amp station reduces the overheating time on Phalanx turrets.
• Various changes to vehicles

There are still a few known issues they are working on. Such as spamming spawn points which they know is an issue and they want to work on it.
